About Our Boutique Inn

Our property isn’t old so we can’t brag of the historic events that took place at our accommodations near Lake Michigan. What we can brag about are the spacious suites that offer you the luxury…and don’t forget the romance…that our home has to offer our guests.

The house was built in 1996 by Jay Yelton, a visionary in South Haven, MI, who saw the charm of B&B lifestyle getaways. The teardown of a small ranch house that was the location of an area medical/dentist office became the beginning of this romantic bed and breakfast. Sadly, we have no ghosts in this house and no squeaks! Once inside the B&B, you will find thirteen fireplaces with one in each guest room, sitting areas you can cozy up in with a good book or hot beverage, and whispers of yesteryear in the stained glass doors and windows that have been harvested from “historic” homes. Old floorboards from the original house, and antiques placed throughout the entire house and guest rooms create a cozy environment for our guests’ enjoyment.

Since it was built, we’ve redesigned the outside, inspired by the Painted Ladies! We also enhanced the gardens in the backyard, which now include a mesmerizing waterfall with Adirondack chairs on a sitting deck. The sounds of the trickling water, the singing of the birds, and the soft fragrances of flowers surround you in our gardens. The gardens are filled with color all season and contribute to the floral arrangements in our dining room and often in the guest rooms.

Meet Our Team

Carol Ann & Jerry Hall purchased Inn at the Park in 2007 and are the fourth owners. Carol Ann left the corporate life after 23-plus years of traveling 80% of the time and decided it was time to do that “dream job.” We have found that living out “my dream” has become a passion for both of us. The unexpected reward we discovered was not the business aspect of this endeavor but the wonderful people, and now friends, we have met.

Joshua and Bobby Lemmer joined the team as co-owners in 2023. Josh grew up nearby and is Carol Ann’s nephew – so a natural business partnership emerged! Both working in corporate America (Bobby in hospitality and Joshua in retail), we took the leap to “work for ourselves” and move from Minneapolis to South Haven. Once we got here, we convinced Auntie to buy a second inn with us (might as well go big!). In 2023, we brought Waters View Inn into our business adventures.
